Magnetic Fields
There is no evidence suggesting adverse health effects due to exposure of magnetic fields. The World Health Organization (WHO) concluded that current evidence does not confirm the existence of any health consequences.
Further, it is our philosophy that stray magnetic fields are wasted energy. Data Security designs degaussers to contain the magnetic fields inside the degausser where the magnetic fields are more productive.
Operator Safety
Data Security manufactures degaussers to minimize operator involvement in the degaussing process, per NSA requirements. Users insert the media, press start and remove the media at the end of the cycle. This easy-to-operate design has many advantages over commercial table-top or platform style degaussers that require users to be involved throughout the degaussing process:
- Users concerned with magnetic fields can avoid them.
- Users avoid intense interaction between hard disk drives and magnetic fields produced by eddy currents.
- Users avoid flying objects from damaged media.
- Users operate equipment in peace and quiet.
