Degausser – TE-9400

CASSETTE SIZES

  • Automatically senses standard or large size Betacam SP, Betacam, Digital Betacam, and DTF/DTF-2 cassettes.

TAPE SPEED

  • 120 ips (25 times NTSC speed, 30 times PAL speed)

COMPREHENSIVE TAPE INFORMATION DISPLAY

Back-lit liquid crystal readout displays the following:

  • Total Defect Counter displays accurate second long sections.
  • Number of damaged sections in each 5, 10 or 15 minute tape segment.
  • Number of damaged sections in top, middle, and bottom areas of the tape.
  • Damage location report of tape area (top, middle, bottom) by exact location (minutes/seconds).

AUTOMATIC TAPE GRADING

  • Tape grade indicated by "A-B-C" condition LEDs.

DETECTION SYSTEM

  • LaserSCAN Detection System uses Ultra Fine Controlled Line Light Source with virtual edge-to-edge continuous scan capability. Reliably locates transverse wrinkles, creases, edge damage, and longitudinal creases. Does not affect recorded signals.

CLEANING SYSTEM

  • Vacuum-assisted tissue cleaning with dual precision sapphire burnishing posts that polish the tape's recording surface in both forward and rewind directions.

ELECTRONICS

  • All solid-state circuitry, including 8085 microprocessor based "smart" transport control system. Electronic sensors continuously monitor tape speed and tension to ensure gentle tape handling.

DIAGNOSTICS

  • Monitors status of tape transport and detection systems and provides front panel diagnostic displays.

CONSTRUCTION

  • Modular design and construction with plug-in components and circuit boards affords easy access and service. May be mounted on a 19-in rack shelf.

OPERATOR CONTROLS

  • Auto – Provides automatic unattended evaluation, cleaning, and rewinding of tape.
  • Foreward – Runs tape fast forward. Tape automatically stops at end.
  • Rewind – Rewinds tape to beginning. TE-9400 drive system provides proper tension and gentle handling.
  • Stop – Stops tape motion in the machine.
  • Eject – Initiates cassette ejection cycle.
  • Erase – Selects optional erase function.
  • Reset – Clears all data from digital memory.
  • Display – Selects from four tape condition display modes and machine status messages.
  • Numeric Keypad – Permits numeric entry of data such as date and tape number.
  • Tape# – Permits numeric entry of tape number that appears on printed report.
  • Date – Allows the day, month, and year to be printed on reports.
  • Print – Activates optional built-in printer for hard copy reports.
  • Set Up – Facilitates diagnostics and entry of "A-B-C" condition values.
  • Printer – Built-in quiet, fast printer, controlled by microprocessor software. Provides hard copy reports, prints defect counts, and graphically shows defect locations.
  • Erase – Provides complete erasure of all recorded signals on Betacam oxide, Betacam SP, Digital Betacam, and DTF/DTF-2. Safety interlock sequence prevents accidental erasure. Machine senses erase tabs on cassettes.

POWER REQUIREMENTS

  • 117 VAC, 4 A, 60 Hz standard (100/220/240 VAC 50 Hz or 60 Hz optional)

DIMENSIONS

  • Height – 13 in
  • Width – 17.5 in
  • Depth – 21.8 in
  • Weight – 75 lb
