LM-4 or LM-4E and DF-4

The NSA/CSS Storage Device Declassification Manual 9-12 declares the following specifications for the erasure of sensitive information on hard disk drives:

"The hard drive must be sanitized using an NSA/CSS evaluated degausser listed in the NSA/CSS Evaluated Products List-Degausser. It is also highly recommended that the hard disk drive be physically damaged prior to release."

Continuous duty, 2 second cycle.

POWER REQUIREMENTS
230 Volt permanent connection. The DF-4 is controlled by the primary power switch on the LM-4 or LM-4E Degausser.

  • 4' conveyor option: DF-4 discharge height of 12" - 24" and footprint of 13' 10" long by 3' 1" wide.
  • 6' conveyor option: DF-4 discharge height of 24" - 36" and footprint of 15' 10" long by 3' 1" wide.
  • 8' conveyor option: DF-4 discharge height of 36" - 46" and footprint of 17' 10" long by 3' 1" wide.
