HD-5T/DB-4000 Degauss and Destroy Duo

Automatic, continuous operation. No adaptors required. The HD-5T degausser uses electromagnetic capacitive discharge to erase hard drives (HDDs). The DB-4000 physically destroys by folding the hard drive in half. Combined, this duo has a cycle time of 42-67 seconds per cycle with a throughput rate of 54-107 drives per hour (method dependant).

Features

  • Fast--a combined degauss and destroy cycle time of 42-67 seconds per cycle with a throughput of 54-107 drives per hour.
  • Built to last--requires no preventative maintenance or expensive repairs.
  • Meets NSA and DoD compliance guidelines for the physical damage of media.

HPM-2/DB-6000 Performance

ERASURE
Independent scientific testing confirms this degausser erases Longitudinal Magnetic Recorded (LMR) and Perpendicular Magnetic Recorded (PMR) hard disk media with a coercivity of 5000 Oersteds and tape media with a coercivity of 3000 Oersteds.

*Erasure performance testing on hard disks with coercivities above 5000 Oe and on magnetic tapes 3000 Oe and above in progress.

EFFICIENCY
Both the HPM-2 degausser and DB-6000 destruction device include ambidextrous handles and are equipped with chambers that accommodate multiple pieces of magnetic media at the same time. Combining multiple tapes and drives per cycle reduces the amount of time and labor associated with media disposal. Built to last, the DB-6000 includes an indestructible ram requires no preventative maintenance or expensive repairs.

ENERGY EFFICIENT
With permanent magnet technology, both the HPM-2 degausser and DB-6000 destruction device operate without electricity making it an ideal emergency destruction device that can be operated in any environment. For additional speed, the DB-6000 can convert to drill-powered mode with a standard cordless drill (not included) and provided bit adaptor.

DEGAUSS, THEN DESTROY
NSA specifications for the erasure of sensitive information on hard disk drives declares:

“The hard drive must be sanitized using an NSA/CSS evaluated degausser listed in the NSA/CSS Evaluated Products List- Degausser. It is also highly recommended that the hard disk drive be physically damaged prior to release.”

-NSA/CSS Storage Device Declassification Manual 9-12

For complete compliance with NSA specifications, pair Data Security, Inc.’s NSA approved HPM-2 degausser with the Db-6000 destruction device for fast, automatic and uninterrupted service.
